About our Camp Epic Timber Trail Package
Camp Epic is the newest accommodation on NZ's best 2 day ride, The Timber Trail. Camp Epic is a one of a kind experience located right on the trail near the halfway point. Stay in one of our large canvas safari tents drifting off to sleep to the sound of Ruru calls on our super comfy warm beds. You'll spend the evening relaxing around the camp fire toasting marshmallows under the starry sky. Refresh and warm up in what we claim to be the best hot showers in NZ that overlook the stunning native forest. Other facilities include flushing toilets, a fully equipped communal kitchen and dining area, and an ebike charging station. We have everything you need for a comfortable camping experience.
You meet us in Ongarue by 8.30am on day 1 of your ride. We shuttle you to the start of the Trail at Pureora and a separate shuttle takes your overnight bags and food/drinks to Camp Epic. Spend day 1 riding the first half of the Timber Trail up and over Mount Pureora. Finish the day at Camp Epic for a relaxing evening by the fire. On day 2 you head out from Camp Epic after a good nights sleep to ride the remainder of the Trail. Spend day 2 riding the second half of the Timber Trail mostly following the old Ellis & Burnard bush tram line. You then finish your ride where you parked in Ongarue with your luggage there waiting for you.
Package includes 1 nights accommodation with breakfast, shuttle from Ongarue to Pureora, and luggage transfers to/from Camp Epic. Packages are self-catered for lunches and dinner, please bring your own food and drinks to be transferred to and from Camp. A help yourself breakfast and hot drinks are provided at Camp Epic. All bedding and towels also provided with glamping option.
